This cigar was made in the Dominican Republic and is not associated with the Cuban Cigar made under the same name nor is it made from Cuban grown tobaccos.
I really enjoyed this cigar! It is packed with flavor! It has an assorment of spices and a smooth and tastey flavor. This is certainly a luxurious cigar. I am finding out there are a lot of imitations of this cigar. Look out for this. Here is an article. (discovered by Cigar Aficionado)
Some History: Five centuries after Christopher Columbus heard the word Cohiba for the first time in the Dominican Republic, a Cohiba cigar was developed in the same country by Diaz y Cia in l978. The Dominican Cohiba cigar, which was reformulated in the 1990s, is the only Cohiba cigar that can be purchased legally in the United States.
